So many firsts…

Hi all, just a quick post here so no one`s worried about us on our motorbikes. We have had a very full and adventuresome two days, and honestly, all of our attention and energy has been focused on riding our motorcycles here in the Alps as opposed to blogging and pictures, etc.

The scenery has been spectacular and the rides have been epic, but pulling over to take pictures hasn`t been high priority. Just finding our way through crowded towns, searching out appropriate parking for 4 motorcycles, winding through a thousand S-curves, negotiating round-abouts, climbing up and cruising down steep roads, tunneling through massive mountains (one tunnel was 4 miles long!) all while trying to read signs in German, French and Italian has been challenging (but so fun and exhilarating!)

To make things just a wee bit more hectic, it was a holiday today in Italy (the Assumption of Mary) and the hotels around Lake Maggiore were completely sold out, so we had to make an unexpected dusk mountain crossing to get over to the Lugano, Switzerland area. It all worked out in the end; we are at a lovely hotel on the shores of Ponte Tresa, we had a lovely meal overlooking the water, and we don`t have to leave early tomorrow.  Here are a few pics; promise to post more  pictures and info, but for now…. Buonanotte.

  2. Sounds exactly like the kind of trip you four would love. I can’t imagine how it would feel on the motorcycles seeing the beautiful scenery with the fresh wind on your face — very nice!

  3. You two just keep getting better and better. Fabulous examples of the fact we all get older, but we don’t have to get old. You guys are beautiful!!

  4. You guys are fabulous. I wish that I had done all you are doing. Remember when I first talked sailing the Greek Isles…haven’t done that either? On the other hand, “you haven’t done everything, but it is on your list”. Keep on keeping on!
