So many firsts…

Hi all, just a quick post here so no one`s worried about us on our motorbikes. We have had a very full and adventuresome two days, and honestly, all of our attention and energy has been focused on riding our motorcycles here in the Alps as opposed to blogging and pictures, etc. The scenery has been spectacular and the rides have been epic, but pulling over to take pictures hasn`t been high priority. Just finding our way through crowded towns, searching out appropriate parking for 4 motorcycles, winding through a thousand S-curves, negotiating round-abouts, climbing up and cruising down steep […]

Obersteinberg to Murren to Thun (13th August)

Murren is a small, car-free village with unbelievable views of the Bernese Alps. It is surrounded by fields laced with hiking trails and it is a wonderfully quiet place. From here we took the train over to the cable car, down to Lauterbrunnen, train to Interlaken Ost changing to train to Thun, where we are tonight.

(Not sure about Scott`s one missing flip flop; he would really like to have it… putting his hiking boots back on after the end of a long day and a shower is not too fun..) They are shipping the bag to Thun, where we rent motorcycles Wednesday morning…holding thumbs!

Grindelwald to Eigergletscher; train to Wengen

Took the train from Grindelwald up to Alpiglen, leaving the development and (most of) the tourists behind… Grindelwald was hopping! (height of tourist season, Sunday, big mountain bike race, etc.) We would meet up with lots of tourists again at the base of the Eiger glacier (it`s also where the Jungfraujoch train takes people up to the `Top of Europe` just below Jungfrau peak…a very popular day trip) There were especially loads of tourists from India to Japan… like 80% (of the people we saw; not of Asia) We opted for the higher Eiger Trail since we decided to skip […]
