Jungle Trekking and Caving

We ended our motorcycle trip through central Vietnam by coming in the ‘back door’ of Phong Nha-Kẻ Bàng National Park, our jumping off point for an overnight trek/cave exploration adventure (yes, Mark agreed to go in caves!). ‘Kong: Skull Island’ was partially filmed here… Shauna looked for him, but only found this creature (video). Our 2nd night of the motorcycle trip was spent in Huế, a city in central Vietnam that was the seat of Nguyen Dynasty emperors and was the Vietnamese capital from 1802–1945. Hue’s 19th-century Citadel, surrounded by a moat and thick stone walls, enclosed the Imperial City, with palaces and shrines; and the Forbidden Purple City. Central Vietnam by Motorbike (Part 1)

We flew from Siem Reap, Cambodia into Danang, in central Vietnam, but immediately drove the short distance to Hoi An for our departure on our motorcycle trip, which turned out to be the highlight of our month in Vietnam.
