Mark Twain once said:

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”

Life is a gift...

We’re Mark and Shauna Trieb and we live in Dallas, Texas. We are actuaries-turned-adventurers and one of the truisms that guides us is: “Life is not a dress rehearsal.” So, we’re doing our best to see, meet, try, and inspire as many places, people, experiences and adventures, as we can during our one shot at life.

In the summer of 2011, we embarked on our own journey of exploration (well, more earnestly, that is, than before). Here we share our adventures with you, our family and friends.

When we’re not traveling (and sometimes when we are), we can be found with our family of four children, two grandchildren, parents, other family and friends. Or working on a project like our most recent one here in Texas with a fantastic organization – Purpose Built Communities.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Thanks for notifying me about this wonderful blog…I love the historical notes and photos. Allow me a personal observation: Shauna, your choice for the first picture is perfect…you look fantastic and Mark looks ripped! If you guys weren’t already married, the Bachelorette and the Bachelor would be booking you guys. Please keep up the history lessons as you travel the world!
